Japan Antique Meiji Dollhouse Miniature Room Box & 50p Set Handcraft Accessories

Japan MiniWe’re delighted to be featuring one of the most beautifully made dollhouse sets that we’ve ever offered.

Japan antique Meiji dollhouse Miniature sets handcrafted with utmost detail and professional artistry, circa 1870-1910 Meiji Emperor Era. One miniature room and one group of approx 50 accessories are each inside custom designed handcrafted storage boxes too; each storage box is marked with characters that roughly translate into “Premium or Specially Made Toy Set”, with the name of the merchant Dai-maru.

It’s been suggested by a Japan scholar I consulted with that the quality is so Japan Mini 2unusually high that it is likely these were custom made only for a daughter of a noble family.

Condition is excellent and outstanding; it’s hard to show the detail that went into each and every section. Includes:

  • Room Box for a tatami or Japanese tea room perhaps. All wood, sliding shoji screen doors open to reveal the room itself. 3″ x 5″ x 2″. Hanging accessories attached to the back wall. This room is actually also in a custom box for storage and safety. One small piece of label residue on side of the outer box is shown in last photo; we did not try to remove it.
  • Set of 50 assorted loose accessories, ranging from most miniscule 1/8″ baskets and utensils (check out the whisk for tea and strainer) to the largest 2″ across piece that we believe is a charcoal stove. Includes bowls, cups, shovels, teapot, tiniest boxes with perfectly fitted little lids. Mixture of wood, metal, ceramic.  All are in a custom designed compartmentalized storage box lined in lambs wool, with a custom cover on top. I show some with a penny coin next to them for scale.
  • A few of the pieces likely fit into the charcoal stove.

These and many other dollhouse items available at our eBay Store Connectibles.
