We’ve been learning about why vintage Singer Featherweight 221 Sewing Machines are so popular with quilters and collectors – they even have a fan club! We’re excited to have discovered a very special version while treasure hunting here in Ct. The word RARE is greatly overused, but in this case it’s appropriate!
Singer BLACKSIDE machine was tucked away in storage in a local home, and we’re delighted to offer it as there are apparently ONLY 198 similar machines documented anywhere! Authentic BLACKSIDES are therefore so hard to find – ours is from 1941, just tuned up and working beautifully. Made pre-war when Chromium was in short supply, has black face plate along with other identifying “black” parts.
Terrific opportunity to have one of the MOST collectible versions of this popular Featherweight machine, so take a look at the BLACKSIDE we now have running! So glad this machine will soon be in the home of a lucky collector, instead of sitting unappreciated in a closet for decades here in Connecticut.
We also found a terrific site that is the “go-to” reference source for everything you want to know about 221 FEATHERWEIGHT Singer machines if you’d like to learn more.
Off on our next “treasure-hunting” adventure!
