In 1989 Lucille Ball died without ever having written her autobiography. Or so everyone thought.  In the 1990’s, a box surfaced that contained a “lost manuscript” for a never-before-published autobiography written in first person by Lucille Ball as “told to” Betty Hannah Hoffman in 1966.  You can imagine the excitement surrounding this discovery!  In 1996 the book was published as LOVE, LUCY by Lucille Ball.

Forward by Lucie Arnaz, the published book was taken from the lost manuscript as Lucille Ball had written. This listing is for THE one and only original manuscript.  312 pages, filled with annotations, corrections and comments by Lucy in her own handwriting.  A remarkable read, and we are including a 1st Edition copy of the published book as well so lucky collector can compare the story side-by-side.

Manuscript is in a thick binder, 312 pages in total, 11″ x 11″ covers.  You will not find a more fascinating example of Lucille Ball’s own notes about her life story. We have the one and only original copy listed here.

Book jacket reads: A recently discovered treasure, Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans – the story of the ingenue from Jamestown, New York, determined to go to Broadway, destined to make a big splash, bound to marry her Valentino, Desi Arnaz. It tells of their life together – both storybook and turbulent; intimate stories of their children and friends….. And with a heartfelt happy ending, her enduring marriage to Gary Morton.”   Available at our connectibles eBay store.
