1966 Portfolio Photo NYC Proposed Twin Tower World Trade Center Balthazar Korab

wtcWe are delighted to be offering a group of striking & dramatic images from an architectural photography portfolio we just obtained.  Offered in 1966 by Irving Trust Company when they moved to their headquarters at One Wall Street, Manhattan.  They collected a fantastic group of professional art photographs depicting New York City architectural landmarks, and put them together in a limited edition portfolio commemorating the changes that occurred in Manhattan in the 1950’s & 1960’s. These are the ORIGINAL 1966 prints; not modern reproductions.

Each print is matted and ready to frame; excellent NEW condition. Each mat measures 12″ x 15″, image size is 9-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.

Pictured here is one of the most important of the portfolio, a Balthazar Korab black and white image of “The 110-Story Pinnacles of the proposed World Trade Center“.  Twin Towers opened in 1973; this print was made in 1966.

  • Korab was an architect and photographer whose photographs have been exhibited in prominent museums, including The Museum of Modern Art. He worked with notable architects including Le Corbusier, Eero Saarinen, and Frank Lloyd Wright.
  • Important image based both on the subject matter AND on the noted artist.

We are selling them individually, and believe that purchasing several and framing them for hanging would be the most dramatic statement! Each also comes with a copy of the mission statement issued by Irving Trust.  Please visit our ebay store connectibles.
