A Poem by Maizy – One of our Wonderful Granddaughters

“Maizy” My mom’s voice calls in a voice that tells me she is happy.
The sound swirls around the playroom and makes my heart smile.
It bounces up the stairs and soars through the hall and jumps off the top of my bookshelf…searching for me.
It find me on my couch and wraps me in a hug.
It somersaults around the room on top of my bed and around my chair.
I follow it downstairs to my mom’s office.

“Maizeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

When my mom is mad the sound zigzags around the kitchen.

It slaps against the oven door and zooms past my sister.
It breaks through the window and twists and turns around the playground
and reaches me in the garden
it winds around me really tight
until I finally manage to walk inside.
